It seems that each day there is a new social network site being set up and they are not really offering much new compared to what is already available out there. Niche markets for social sites is the only option at the moment and not sure if any niche alone is strong enough to make it a large fish in the social pool. Yeah, a network for bald people may be a fun and unique idea, but how many people would really be using it. A few thousand, even a hundred thousand would not be enough to make it a viable network for years to come. Facebook, twitter, etc.. are not defined in a niche, so they can incorporate vast numbers of people with different interests including bald people.
Anyway who has time to a member of yet another SN? "Not I" screamed FYI Denmark. Facebook and Twitter are enough for me .. well actually I have a few others but not very active on them at this time.

[...] Let’s take a short scenario: The video of some conference is 1:00 hrs long and it discusses the topic of “Marketing” at some instant that people don’t already know that where it is discussed. So, he has to almost see the whole video to find out. Also, there is a problem of extra video streaming that will be done by the video server (which can be saved, if the user is only interested in a particular span of time within a video). Dont forget to read about modern vide player: Video Content Like Dislike Jumps [...]

@Reza Agreed. But unfortunately, I cannot show any prototype in action, we have to wait for it.

A very interesting idea. Is there any prototype available to see it in action. It would be nice to see how the video plays skipping the dislike parts. If it has a smooth experience, this would be a valuable feature specially for long videos.

I love Facebook but I find it really funny and kinda worry with the current trend for social network when I read on news that people trapped in earthquake decided to update their facebook status rather than call for help or in another incident where a thief broke into a house and stole a laptop and then posted up a picture of himself with the owner's laptop and facebook account. Funny? I start to wonder if social network is starting to slowly kill our real life in order to spice up our online life.

I started with friendster and myspace when I was still in school, then we migrated to facebook. Social network is really fun for me as I am able to contact my long lost friend, my childhood friend, etc. It's cool when I can even interact with my friends through chats and games. Cooler when I can know if my friends and I know the same friends as well. It's better when I can find new friends which share the same interests with me such as music, workplace, games that we play, etc. I think for now I will stick to Facebook and twitter.
